Three Monroeville organizations team up to launch “One Book, Our Community.”

Mon Valley Circles has joined forces with The Monroeville Interfaith Ministerium and the Monroeville Public Library to start “One Book, Our Community,” a book club initiative-  for the entire community.

In this round, the library lent out over 100 copies of the book “Nickel and Dimed: On (Not) Getting By in America” to community members. “Nickel and Dimed,” written by Barbara Ehrenreich, talks about some of the issues that minimum-wage workers encounter. The goal of this community-wide book club is to bring folks together to speak about the issues of poverty that plague the Monroeville area.
